Flipped Grammar Teaching Video

Hello!

Today's task is the same with the previous one. We've prepared a video for a flipped class but about a grammar point this time. We picked a grammar point from a coursebook and prepared a video about it.

For this task my pair Halil and I used Powtoon for the video, and Wordwall for the exercise. I mentioned Wordwall on the previous task, but we used Powtoon for the first time for this task. We had some trouble with Powtoon because we didn't know that it requires Premium for a video to be more than 3 minutes. Because of this, we prepared two seperate videos. Nevertheless, I think we've accomplished a nice work.

This is the first part of our video, and this is the second part. Here is the exercise's link too. Check them out if you're interested!

See you next time.

Flipped Vocabulary Teaching Video

 Hi!

Today's task is preparing a flipped vocabulary teaching video. Before explaining the task, let me explain what is a flipped classroom is. It's basicly; "Traditionally done in the class is now done at home, and what was traditionally homework is now completed in class" (Bergmann & Sams, 2012). We did a vocabulary teaching video for a flipped classroom with my pair Halil. So the students will watch this video at home in their free time, and then the exercise we've prepeared will be done in class time together.

I think what makes flipping a classroom advantageous is that it enables the classroom time to be efficiently used for review and exercise. Therefore the learners have more time to enhance their understanding of the related subject. But the fact that each learner's comprehension level is not the same or that each subject is not suitable to be learned at home makes flipping a classroom disadvantageous.

The tools we used are Movavi and Wordwall. Because I don't really understand anything related to creating a video, Halil did that part of our task. He told me that the tool he used, Movavi, is not a very easy tool but he managed to create a nice video. I prepared the context and the exercise. The exercise we chose is a test including some visuals for the learners to comprehend the phrases. Wordwall is an easy tool for preparing exercises for learners.

Here are the links both for the video and the vocabulary check exercise if you want to take a look.

That's all for now. See you next time!

Goodbye!
